American Constitution Society, International

The America Constitution Society is starting its very first student group abroad at the Department of Law of the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg to get students excited about the American Constitution and the work of ACS.

The ACS, Halle is a student club focused on enhancing understanding of progressive approaches to the rule of law. The group meets weekly for English-language debate and discussion of contemporary legal issues from a global perspective. Through active role-playing, discussions stimulate debate on contemporary issues from the perspective of key global and local actors ranging from individuals and interest groups to nations and international communities.

“The American Constitution Society (ACS) is the nation’s leading progressive legal organization, with over 200 student and lawyer chapters in almost every state and on most law school campuses. Originally formed as the progressive response after the Supreme Court’s Bush v. Gore decision, ACS was founded on the principle that the law should be a force to improve the lives of all people.”
